New Technologies - Research centre
New Technologies - Research centre (NTC) was founded on 3. 7. 2000 in the framework of the R&D project of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports called "Research Centres". The Centre was then constituted by the Academic senate of the university as an independent university institution at the faculty level. The Centre supports R&D activities in the West Bohemian region with a close relation to the Czech and international research and development teams.
The Centre focuses on applied research with an important role of problem-oriented research concerning technological processes, technical and other dynamical systems, and materials.
The main purpose of the Centre consists in concentration of both mental and material capacity for implementation of new technologies and development, especially in West Bohemian region. Another important role of the Centre is to attract the young generation to creative scientific work. The Centre has eight departments and there are about 150 full-time and part-time employees. More than one half of these individuals are younger than 35. The performance results of the Centre contribute to the actual level of production technologies, products, and labour efficiency.
