Modelling and measurement of interactions in technical systems (MIS)

Participitation in NTC key competencies:

  • Computer modelling and measurement of fluid flow in technical systems and its interaction with other physical fields and elastic bodies

  • Computer modelling and measurement of technical acoustics including simulations of acoustic waves in heterogeneous medium

Scope of department:

The department is focused on computer modelling and partially also experimental measurement of steady, unsteady and transient processes in technical systems. Besides of solving tasks of one field, e.g. fluid flow or electric field, the main aim is at solving complex tasks with interactions of two and more physical fields (coupled tasks). As an example can be referenced: modelling of interactions of fluid flow with electric and thermal fields (corona discharge, electrostatic precipitator, electric arc, plasma); modelling of interactions of one- or multi-phase fluids flow with elastic bodies or other phycical fields (catalytic processes, acoustic response of flowing fluids, discrete phase under different conditions). To solve these tasks, both commercial codes enhanced with additional models and functions and own programs are used.

The department dispose also with LeCroy oscilloscope (WavePro 950) and Power Diagnostix PD+ partial discharges analyzer.
